2027: Adeleke Stands By Tinubu Endorsement, Vows Continued Support

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, insisting that he remains committed to the endorsement he previously gave the President.

Adeleke made the declaration on Sunday while hosting the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, and other party leaders at the Government House in Osogbo.

The governor explained that he has a history of keeping his promises, recalling how he ensured that federal lawmakers from Osun aligned with Tinubu’s preferred candidates during the election of National Assembly principal officers. According to him, his decision to back the President was based on conviction and mutual respect rather than political calculation.

He also cited Tinubu’s support during a period when Osun State faced financial challenges following the freezing of government accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), describing the President as someone who showed understanding during a difficult time.

Adeleke stressed that his endorsement remains unchanged and urged political stakeholders across Osun State to put aside differences and work together in the interest of development and progress.

Speaking after the meeting, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru said the visit was aimed at appreciating the governor for his support during the burial of his mother, congratulating him on his re-election victory, and acknowledging his endorsement of President Tinubu.

Basiru noted that Adeleke had not only endorsed the President but had also indicated readiness to actively participate in campaign activities ahead of the 2027 election.

He expressed confidence that collaboration between the APC and the Accord Party in Osun could significantly boost Tinubu’s vote tally in the state, projecting that the President could secure up to 1.5 million votes.

The APC chieftain further called on residents to embrace peace and unity, urging political actors and members of transport unions in the state to resolve internal disputes and focus on the collective development of Osun.

According to him, political competition should not prevent stakeholders from working together to improve infrastructure, economic opportunities, and the overall welfare of the people.
