3 Burnt To Death As Gunmen Invade Gombe Communities
Gunmen have attacked Pobawure and Amtawalam communities in Billiri Local Government Area (LGA) of Gombe State where they murdered three.
They reportedly burnt their victims in a midnight attack on Friday.
Members of the communities said the gunmen stormed the two communities at midnight when they were asleep, and set houses and stocked food items on fire.
The District head of the community, Malam Ahmed Zubairu, recalled that there similar attacks on November 22, saying “two days after the attack which left two dead, the neighbouring community was also attacked.”
Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of the state yesterday visited the two communities to commiserate and assess the level of destruction.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Oqua Etim, assured the affected communities that the police are on top of the situation, saying they will not relent until gunmen are tracked down and prosecuted.
