44 Pensioners Receive N2b From Lagos Government

The Lagos State Government has revealed that it has paid N2.017 billion in retirement benefits to 644 pensioners.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Pension Commission, Mr Babalola Obilana, disclosed this on Wednesday at the 101st batch Retirement Bond Certificate presentation for retirees in Lagos State.

He noted that the government is committed to rewarding those who serve the state.

According to him, the N2.017 billion payment is the retirees’ past service benefits before the commencement of the Contributory Pension Scheme in 2007.

“It is indeed an honour to recognise and commend the retirees’ hard work and commitment demonstrated throughout their years of service to Lagos State.

“This retirement bond certificate presentation is not just a formality; it is a moment to reflect upon the remarkable contributions you all have made,” he stated.
