APC Chieftain Calls for Justice in Ugborodo Clash That Killed Resident

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Ayirimi Emami, has called for the prosecution of those responsible for the killing of Emiko Onuwaje, a resident of Warri South-West Local Government Area in Delta State. The appeal follows a deadly clash between youths from Ugborodo and Ogidigben riverine Itsekiri communities, which resulted in Onuwaje’s death on Saturday.

Emami condemned the killing, describing it as tragic and unacceptable, and lamented that such violence only deepens divisions and stalls development. He paid a condolence visit to the victim’s family and urged residents to remain calm, allowing law enforcement agencies to investigate and bring perpetrators to justice.

“I urge our people to remain calm and allow the police and other law enforcement agencies to get to the root of the killing of this innocent man and ultimately, fish out the culprits,” Emami said. “It will not be in our interest to instigate a crisis that will lead to the total breakdown of law and order. It won’t bring back the dead. Our cry is for justice for the dead and the bereaved family.”

Emami emphasized that efforts to fast-track development in Ugborodo Federated Communities should not be derailed by individuals with criminal tendencies, urging residents to unite against such elements and protect peace in the area.

The incident has sparked fear and uncertainty across parts of Delta State, highlighting concerns about community tensions and the need for effective security measures.
