Acting CMD Appointed for Federal Teaching Hospital in Ekiti
Dr. Olagoke Erinomo has assumed the role of Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State, effective January 1, 2026.
His appointment follows the completion of the two-term tenure of the immediate past CMD, Professor Adekunle Ajayi, which ended on December 31, 2025.
In a statement issued by the hospital on Friday, Dr. Erinomo pledged to maintain the institution’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare. In his New Year address to staff, he urged resilience and renewed hope while continuing to provide “quality and compassionate healthcare services to our clients and communities.”
During the official handover on December 31, Professor Ajayi reflected on his eight-year tenure, describing it as “fulfilling and rewarding.” He extended his best wishes to the incoming acting head, stating, “May you achieve great success and be celebrated.”
In response, Dr. Erinomo commended Ajayi’s leadership, noting the “numerous breakthroughs, accomplishments, and exemplary performance” that marked his tenure.
The Federal Government is expected to announce a substantive Chief Medical Director for the hospital in due course.
