NYSC Begins 2026 Deployment, Issues Camp and Documentation Guidelines
The National Youth Service Corps has announced the deployment details for its 2026 Batch A Stream 1 prospective corps members, confirming that call-up letters are now accessible.
In an official communication on Monday, the scheme stated that due to capacity constraints at some orientation camps, a number of prospective corps members posted to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory will instead undertake their orientation programs in neighboring states.
Specifically, some of those deployed to Lagos will attend camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun, or Osun states, while some assigned to the FCT will report to camps in Kaduna, Niger, or Nasarawa states. The NYSC explained that only about 40% of registered applicants can be accommodated in the upcoming orientation program, which begins nationwide on January 21.
The scheme has also issued a travel advisory, urging prospective corps members to avoid night travel when heading to their camps. It emphasized the importance of completing all required documentation including printing and signing necessary forms before arrival.
Additionally, the NYSC clarified that individuals with discrepancies between the graduation date on their call-up letter and their official statement of results will not be registered at the camp and must resolve such issues with their institution’s Student Affairs Office beforehand.
Special guidance was provided for married female prospective corps members. Those not posted to their husband’s state of residence should report to the orientation camp nearest to them. Those applying for concessional posting based on marital grounds are required to upload supporting documents, including a marriage certificate and proof of the husband’s identity and domicile.
The NYSC reiterated that it will maintain a strict stance against indiscipline throughout the orientation period.
