A 10-year-old girl has been rescued from a severe case of alleged child abuse in Ado Ekiti, following a swift intervention triggered by a distress call to Ebi NLA Radio on Sunday evening.
The station reported receiving an urgent call between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM about a child in critical danger at a residence in Fiyinfolu Estate. The caller alleged the girl was being subjected to life-threatening physical harm by a woman believed to be her mother.
An emergency team from the radio station responded immediately. Upon arrival, they met violent resistance from the suspect, who attempted to block access to the child. With the courageous assistance of local residents, the team successfully intervened and secured the girl.
Eyewitnesses described a harrowing scene.
