BOUESTI Student Found Dead in Well, Academic Pressure Alleged

A second-year student of Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere Ekiti, has been found dead inside a well in what witnesses describe as a suspected suicide.

The student, identified as Blessing, was reportedly discovered in the Obateru area of Ikere Ekiti. Unconfirmed reports from the scene suggest distress over academic performance, specifically carryover courses, may have been a factor.

It was gathered that the student was seen entering the well, with no immediate rescue possible. Local residents raised the alarm after realizing he had been in the well for an extended period, estimated at two hours.

University authorities, including the Dean of Students, were promptly notified and rushed to the location with an ambulance. The lifeless body was retrieved after a pumping machine drained the well and a ladder was deployed.

The remains have been deposited at a state morgue for preservation and further procedures. The university community has been thrown into mourning following the tragic incident.
