Security Expert Falegan Offers to Train Ekiti Amotekun Corps Free of Charge
A security expert and member of the British Royal Air Force, Opeyemi David Falegan, has offered to train operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps at no cost as part of efforts to address rising security challenges in the state.

Falegan, who is also the founder of the Opeyemi David Falegan Foundation, made the offer while speaking with journalists following recent attacks in the state, including the killing of two traditional rulers and the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers.
He stressed the need to engage local vigilante groups for actionable intelligence, noting that community-based knowledge remains vital in identifying suspicious activity.
“Let me train the Amotekun corps because I still believe in local intelligence. Working with local vigilantes can provide tips and information about suspicious behaviour to uncover who might be involved and for what purposes,” he said.
Falegan urged the government to approach the issue of kidnapping from a non-political standpoint, describing it as a matter requiring urgent attention.
He called on the Ekiti State Government to involve security experts in proffering solutions and offered his skills and services free of charge.
“Ekiti State Government should involve experts in this area to give adequate advice in bringing this problem to an end. I am offering myself and my skills without cost as a security expert,” he added.
Falegan also advocated for the use of modern technology to enhance security operations, recommending equipment such as drones, ground control stations, and compact biometric search-scan systems.
He called on security agencies in the state to intensify efforts to bring perpetrators of violence to justice, describing the recent incidents as sad and unfortunate.
“This is a call on the government, both at the federal and state levels, to redouble their efforts in order to put a stop to these barbaric acts,” Falegan said.
