Boko Haram Parades 300 Abducted Villagers in New Video After Borno Attack
Terrorists display captives in propaganda footage following deadly raid on Ngoshe community
Boko Haram terrorists have released a video showing approximately 300 villagers they abducted during a recent attack on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The footage, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, was posted by a user identified as OurFaveOnlineDoc (@OurFavOnlineDoc), who claimed the insurgents released the video following their raid on the community.
According to sources, the attack occurred around midnight on Wednesday, forcing thousands of residents to flee to the neighbouring Pulka community, where many displaced persons are currently sleeping on the road and in school buildings.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assault lasted several hours, leaving widespread panic and destruction in its wake. The air component of Operation Hadin Kai was eventually deployed to repel the attackers and disperse them into the surrounding forest.
Video Shows Armed Fighters Parading Captives
In the 30-second video, several armed men believed to be insurgents were seen carrying rocket-propelled grenades and other sophisticated weapons while waving their black flag.
Some of the fighters appeared to be wearing Nigerian military uniforms as they escorted their leader while walking past villagers seated along a path. The abductees were seated on the ground as the fighters were observed observing one of the daily prayers.
The X user accompanying the video wrote: “Boko Haram has just released a video showing about 300 kidnapped villagers in Gwoza, Borno State. This is after the terrorists overpowered a military base and killed many people in the attack a few days ago.”
President Tinubu Calls for Resilience
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu on Friday urged Nigerians not to succumb to fear in the face of renewed terror attacks in parts of the country.
Speaking during an interfaith breaking of the fast with members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies at the State House in Abuja, the President assured that his administration was doing everything within its power to defeat terrorism and restore stability.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s determination to overcome terrorism and other threats to Nigeria’s peace and unity, expressing confidence that the country would prevail against forces seeking to undermine its stability.
