Ekiti Government Highlights Progress Under Oyebanji’s Leadership
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, has stated that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s focus on continuity, service delivery, and people-oriented policies has positively impacted the state and its residents.
In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Friday, Mr Olatunbosun said the administration has recorded unprecedented progress since the governor assumed office in October 2022, driven by a commitment to sustainable development and inclusive governance.
According to the commissioner, the government has deliberately built on the achievements of previous administrations, with emphasis on completing abandoned projects while initiating new ones under its infrastructure agenda. He noted that this approach has led to the rehabilitation of key road networks, boosting transportation, commerce, and rural-urban integration.
On agriculture, Mr Olatunbosun said the government has revitalised the sector through the reintroduction of extension services, provision of farm inputs, and youth-focused agricultural initiatives. He added that clearing thousands of hectares of farmland has increased food production and created employment opportunities.
In the health sector, the commissioner said the administration has revitalised primary healthcare centres and introduced mobile healthcare services for underserved communities, improving access to quality and affordable care.
He also noted substantial investments in education, including the renovation of public schools, integration of digital learning tools, and continuous teacher training. He stated that these interventions aim to raise educational standards and equip students with skills for global competitiveness.
“Through various empowerment programmes, the administration has expanded opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship under the Economic Growth and Job Creation pillar. Ongoing innovation-driven initiatives are positioning Ekiti State as an emerging hub for knowledge-based industries, while also contributing to increased internally generated revenue,” Mr Olatunbosun said.
The commissioner described Governor Oyebanji’s leadership as inclusive, transparent, and unifying, adding that it has fostered a stable political environment and strengthened collaboration among stakeholders,
He solicited continued support from all stakeholders and reiterated the administration’s commitment to sustainable development, improved quality of life, and inclusive growth that leaves no community behind. He emphasised that the achievements recorded so far represent key milestones in the broader vision of shared prosperity for Ekiti State.
