Ondo APC Youth Group Pledges to Mobilise Over One Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State have declared their intention to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Operating under the banner of the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu, the group said its goal is to secure no fewer than one million votes for the President in the upcoming presidential election.
Speaking on Sunday during a meeting in Akure, the state capital, the group’s Director-General, Thalis Apalowo, argued that Tinubu merits a second term due to what he described as the President’s resolve to reform Nigeria’s economy and reposition the nation for growth.
Apalowo noted that Tinubu is already reshaping the country’s economic landscape and creating opportunities for millions of Nigerians, especially young people. “Our mission is to educate young people about government policies and opportunities, to serve as a bridge between the government and the youth population, and to promote unity, participation and democratic responsibility,” he said.
He urged youths in the state to become advocates of development and good governance, adding, “We are working towards securing more than one million votes for the President in this state.”
Apalowo highlighted several federal initiatives as evidence of a youth-friendly administration, including the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, through which over 510,000 students have reportedly benefited.
He also cited credit access schemes such as CreditCorp, which has disbursed over N30 billion in affordable loans to more than 150,000 Nigerians, as well as programmes like iDICE for digital and creative industries.
He further commended the President for appointing two indigenes of Ondo State to his cabinet: the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.
