Kogi Varsity Expels Two Students for Homosexuality, Rusticates Four for Fighting

The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has expelled two students for alleged involvement in same-sex activities and rusticated four others for one academic session over a physical altercation on campus.

The decision was ratified during the university senate’s 31st regular meeting following recommendations from the Students’ Disciplinary Committee. Official notification letters signed by the Deputy Registrar of Academics were subsequently issued to the affected students.

According to institutional reports, the expelled students are Onumoko Hamza of the Biology Education Department and Abdulazeez Eneji of the Mining Engineering Department. The rusticated students include Favor Akowe (Microbiology), Simbiat Babamuharuna (Biology), Zainab Omayoza (Biochemistry), and Sukura Bukola (Biochemistry).

University authorities stated that the disciplinary actions were enforced under the provisions of the institution’s amended Students’ Handbook. Management reiterated its commitment to maintaining order and campus discipline, warning that violations of university regulations will continue to attract decisive penalties.
