Osun2026: ADC’s Salaam Denies Vote-buying Allegation, Faults Exclusion of Agents

The Africa Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship candidate in Osun State, Najeem Salaam, has denied allegations of vote-buying levelled against his party in Saturday’s election.*

Speaking after voting at Ward 4, Salaam said the ADC was focused on presenting its programmes to the people and allowing voters to freely choose their preferred candidate.

“Vote buying is out of it. I have never in my life bought votes. People will decide whom they want, and I think it should be very fair enough for them to have the right to choose whom they prefer as the governor of the state,” he said.

The candidate, who arrived at his polling unit at 10:39am, also raised concerns over the alleged non-recognition of ADC agents in several areas across the state.

He said reports indicated that party agents were not being recognised in 10 local government areas despite the party uploading their names ahead of the election. According to him, the matter has been reported to relevant authorities who are looking into it.

Salaam expressed confidence of victory, attributing his optimism to his faith in God and the support of voters.
