Music Executive Dapper Refutes Allegations by Seyi Vibez and Shallipopi, Challenges Both Artistes to Independent Audit

Music executive and Dapper Group founder, Damilola Akinwunmi, widely known as Dapper, has publicly dismissed allegations made by his former signees, Seyi Vibez and Shallipopi, regarding the management of their music catalogues and financial records.

In a series of statements released on Monday, Dapper rejected claims of financial impropriety and urged both artistes to submit their contract terms and accounting records to top-tier international accounting and law firms for forensic evaluation. He asserted that a thorough independent audit would determine the actual financial standing between the label and the performers.

Addressing claims regarding financial distribution, Dapper stated that both musicians received significant upfront advances during their time with the label and were offered increased percentage shares. He also criticized the artistes for avoiding formal audits while publicly raising allegations regarding their accounts.

The conflict follows the departures of both artistes from Dapper Music amid disputes over their contracts. Seyi Vibez severed ties with the record label in late 2024 to transition into an independent career, while Shallipopi departed in December 2024, raising allegations of non-transparency, contractual exploitation, and unauthorized financial advances claims Dapper Music has consistently denied.

Dapper further addressed specific accusations, including claims regarding signature forgery and missed legal proceedings, maintaining that his business dealings were conducted in good faith and that full financial records remain available to relevant authorities.
