Federal Government Launches Free Tech Training Initiative for 36,000 Nigerians
Nigerians seeking to acquire high-paying digital skills can now apply for fully sponsored training through the government-backed Digital Training Academy in partnership with Coursera.
Part of the National Skilling Project, the initiative aims to enroll 36,000 participants across all 37 states to enhance employability in the tech sector. The program covers more than 10 high-demand technical fields, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, software development, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, IT automation, and quantum computing.
Open to students, job seekers, and working professionals, the program offers fully funded Coursera learning licenses, designated physical training centers equipped with internet access and devices, and recognized certificates upon successful completion of required modules.
To register, applicants must visit the official portal at http://dta.education.gov.ng/onboarding and create an account using their National Identification Number (NIN) and phone number. After completing a profile detailing their background and career goals, candidates take a pre-assessment to determine their baseline skill level before receiving a tailored learning pathway.
