Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has described the re-election of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as a major triumph secured against overwhelming political opposition.

Addressing journalists at his country residence following the August 15 governorship election, the artist expressed deep gratitude to the people of Osun State for standing firm to protect their votes despite political pressure. He noted that the election was a tough political battle, likening the political opposition to an alliance of numerous high-profile political figures lined up against a single candidate.

Reflecting on the outcome, the singer stated that the victory sends a clear message to elected officials across the country that leaders who genuinely serve the public interest will earn the unwavering support of the electorate.

With the political contest concluded, focus is shifting toward youth empowerment and infrastructure development in the state. Serving as Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund, the musician revealed plans to rollout key initiatives that had been intentionally paused until after the election.
