Odogwu Asaba’s Wife Defends Husband, Expresses Confidence in Rape Case Outcome

The wife of Delta-based content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has publicly defended her husband amid ongoing investigations into allegations that he raped a 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro, who later died after reportedly consuming a toxic substance.

Speaking in a video shared online, the woman maintained that she strongly believes in her husband’s innocence and said she would continue to support him throughout the legal process.

According to her, their eight-year relationship has convinced her that the allegations do not reflect the character of the man she knows. She stated that while no one can predict the outcome of the case, she remains confident that he will eventually be vindicated.

The content creator was arrested by the Delta State Police Command following allegations that he lured Agbro to Asaba with promises of mentorship in content creation before allegedly sexually assaulting and physically abusing her in a hotel.

Police authorities confirmed his arrest and said investigations into the matter remain ongoing.

The woman also addressed criticism from members of the public who questioned her decision to stand by her husband. She said her commitment to him was rooted in their years together and the family they have built, noting that they share four children.

She further stressed that separating her children from their father was not a decision she considered necessary, adding that she had not experienced abuse or threats within their marriage.

Reaffirming her position, she stated that while her husband had acknowledged knowing the deceased, he had consistently denied forcing himself on her. She urged the public to allow the legal process to run its course and avoid reaching conclusions before investigations are completed.

The case has attracted widespread attention on social media since details of the allegations emerged. Authorities have yet to conclude their investigation, while the family of the deceased and other stakeholders continue to await the outcome of the inquiry.

The wife also encouraged members of the public not to rely solely on social media narratives when assessing sensitive criminal cases, insisting that facts established through due process should guide public opinion.
