The Nigerian Air Force has commenced preparations for its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for enlistment as tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women under the Basic Military Training Course 47/2026.

The recruitment portal is scheduled to open on September 3 and will remain accessible until October 14, giving eligible candidates several weeks to complete their applications.

Military authorities stated that the exercise is designed to attract capable and committed Nigerians interested in pursuing a career in the Air Force. Applicants have been advised to carefully review all requirements before submitting their details, stressing that the registration process attracts no fee.

To be eligible, candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth and satisfy the prescribed educational, medical, physical, and age requirements. Those applying as tradesmen or tradeswomen must be between 18 and 27 years old by March 1, 2027, while applicants in the non-trades category must not be older than 22 years by the same date.

The Air Force also outlined minimum height requirements, with male applicants expected to be at least 1.66 metres tall and female applicants at least 1.63 metres.

Candidates applying for trade-related positions are required to possess relevant vocational or professional qualifications obtained from accredited institutions, in addition to the required secondary school credits. Applicants seeking positions that require technical certifications must provide the appropriate credentials, while drivers are expected to present valid driving licences.

For the non-trades category, candidates must have the required secondary school qualifications, including credits in English Language and Mathematics, alongside other relevant documents.

Shortlisted applicants will proceed to a zonal aptitude test and subsequent screening stages. Successful candidates will also be required to submit parental consent, identification, and attestation documents endorsed by approved officials.
