Wike Predicts Easy 2027 Win for Tinubu, Dismisses Opposition Coalition

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Tinubu remains firmly on course for re-election in 2027, insisting that opposition forces lack the political strength to unseat the incumbent.

Speaking during a media interaction in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Wike expressed confidence that Tinubu would secure another term without facing significant electoral pressure, citing what he described as the President’s growing support base across the country.

The minister downplayed the influence of emerging opposition alliances, arguing that recent political developments have shown that rival parties are struggling to build the momentum needed to challenge the ruling party ahead of the next general election.

He also spoke on the political coalition being formed by Tinubu’s supporters, explaining that its objective is to strengthen support for the President and expand cooperation among political stakeholders.

According to Wike, the coalition is driven by a collective vision rather than the ambition of any single political figure, stressing that collaboration remains vital in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The former Rivers State governor further questioned the electoral capacity of leading opposition figures and their parties, pointing to recent election outcomes as evidence that their influence may not be as strong as projected.
