How to Apply for FG’s Free Solar Installation Training

The Federal Government, in collaboration with Siemens Energy and the German development agency, GIZ, has opened applications for free Solar Photovoltaic Installation Training for professionals, technicians and young people interested in careers in the renewable energy sector.

The training is being offered under the Siemens Energy Education and Development project, known as SEED, and supported by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme, a technical assistance programme co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by GIZ.

According to a notice posted by FGN Power Company on its X handle on Wednesday, the training will combine theoretical instruction, hands-on practical sessions, technical site visits and competency assessments.

Participants who complete the programme will also receive COREN certification.

“The programme is open to applicants with practical experience as well as those without formal education or prior practical experience.

“Recent graduates with National Diploma, Higher National Diploma or undergraduate qualifications, young professionals in relevant fields and people passionate about renewable energy are also encouraged to apply,” the notice read.

However, applicants are required to be available to attend the three-week training in person.
