Anambra: Police Arrest Last Suspect In 2023 Pincode Kidnap-Murder Case

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the last identified member of a notorious armed robbery and kidnapping gang led by a suspect known as “Pincode,” linked to a 2023 kidnapping that resulted in the death of the victim.

Police operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department arrested Olisa Oyelu alias Obele, 25, in the early hours of September 23, 2026.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrest followed sustained intelligence gathering and painstaking investigation after the 2023 incident.

Ikenga said the suspect was allegedly an active member of the gang involved in the kidnapping operation, and police commenced extensive investigation to identify and prosecute all persons connected to the crime.

He said at the conclusion of investigative proceedings, Oyelu will be handed over to the Correctional Centre where Pincode and four other gang members are already on remand awaiting judgement.

Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, commended the operatives for their perseverance and intelligence-led approach.

He assured Ndi Anambra that the Command will continue to pursue criminal elements within and outside the state until they are brought before the law, and urged the public to provide credible and timely information.
