2027 election: INEC Opens Portal for Ad hoc Staff Applications

The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened its online portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2027 general election.

INEC said the INECPRES portal was activated on Friday, September 18, 2026, for interested applicants seeking to serve as ad hoc staff during the election.

The commission said applications would close at midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. The official INECPRES portal currently confirms that the 2027 General Election ad hoc staff engagement is active and that November 18, 2026, is the application closing date.

INEC said, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will activate the INECPRES for interested Applicants who wish to serve as ad-hoc staff during the 2027 General Election as scheduled below.”

The commission said the activation began at 8am on September 18 and would remain open until 12 midnight on November 18.

“The activation of INECPRES on Friday, 18 September 2026 by 8:00am and closes on Wednesday, 18th Nov, 2026 by 12 midnight,” the notice read.

INEC said applicants could complete the process through its website using either the mobile application or web application.

“The Online application will be available on the INEC website via the link inecnigeria.org (for both mobile App. and the Web Application),” it stated.

Applicants using laptops or desktop computers can access the web version through the INECPRES portal.

“The web version (using a laptop and desktop) shall be accessible via the portal URL: pres.inecnigeria.org,” the notice added.

The commission also provided links for applicants using Android devices.

“The Android mobile App. shall be accessible via the link inecnigeria.org/pres.apk or inecpres-app.com/pres-app.apk,” it stated.

The INEC recruitment page lists categories including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Registration Area Centre Managers among the positions available for the 2027 election.

The commission urged interested applicants to use the designated INECPRES channels and complete their applications within the stipulated period.

The recruitment exercise is part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 general election, with the commission’s current election calendar listing January 16, 2027, for the nationwide presidential and House of Assembly elections.
