Seven Rescued As Ibadan Building Collapses

A five-storey building, said to be under construction in Awosika area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital,  collapsed in the early hours of Thursday.

The building- a hotel- is situated within Ibadan North Local Government Area and close to the Oyo State Government secretariat.

Rescue teams, consisting men from the State Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, and other security agencies, have been deployed to the scene.

So far, about seven people were reported rescued from the rubble in the aftermath of the collapse.

The rescue teams are still searching for the workers who must have been trapped in the building.
