Despite the vote of confidence passed on national chairman of the Peoples Democratic  Party, Iyorchia Ayu, Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has insisted that the National Chairman must resign.

Wike said that Ayu had to resign because that was the vow made to him by the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar when the latter visited him after the primaries.

“I challenge the presidential candidate of the PDP to deny this”, Wike said.

Wike added that his agitation was not about him but is a matter of “integrity”, since having the presidential candidate and national chairman of the party from the North was a “violation of the party’s constitution.”
