Setback For Senegal As Mane Set To Miss world Cup With Injury

Bayern Munich football star, Sadio Mane may miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup set to begin later this month in Qatar.

Bayern Coach, Julian Nagelsmann confirmed that the Senegalese took a knock in their 6-1 victory against Bremen on Tuesday.

Nagelsmann added that the Senegalese player will have an X-ray to know the extent of his injury.

“He took a knock to the head of his tibia,’ he said. ‘It’s always uncomfortable. He has to have an X-ray. I hope nothing is wrong.

‘I didn’t see him after the game, I hope it’s not a big injury. But I don’t know at the moment, the Bayern boss continued. ‘We’ll see tomorrow and then give an update,” Nagelsmann said.

Mane was included in Senegal’s World Cup squad in Qatar after he was injured and this is a huge blow to his nationality.

The superstar is currently the second-best player in the world according to the Ballon d’Or ranking.
