Accord Party Dumps Rhodes-Vivour For Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has endorsed the re-election bid of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of the state.

The party also announced the decision of its candidates to step down for Sanwo-Olu, and all the APC candidates in the March 18 elections.

Gboyega Akosile, chief press secretary to the governor, in a statement revealed that Oladele Oladeji, AP chairperson in Lagos, spoke at a press conference held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, on Tuesday.

Oladeji was quoted as saying that AP opted out of its alliance with the Labour Party( LP) owing to the way its members were treated after the presidential poll.

He said the victory of Peter Obi of the LP in Lagos was a collective effort of all tribes in the state and not a solo effort as being claimed in some quarters.

He said Sanwo-Olu’s performance informed AP’s decision to support his re-election, which showed the party was unbiased but after competent leadership.

Oladeji said his party has endorsed Sanwo-Olu also for his giant strides in Lagos, noting that the decision was based on the party’s resolve not to sacrifice various achievements of the administration on the altar of bitter politicking.

He urged AP members and all Lagos residents to come out en masse on Saturday and vote for the APC candidates.
