ADC Appoints Activist Aisha Yesufu to Lead Membership Drive for 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated a 20-member committee to drive a nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise. The move is part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structures for the 2027 general elections.

Inaugurated on Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s National Chairman, David Mark, the Membership, Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration (MRMR) Committee is chaired by Kashim Imam. Activist Aisha Yesufu will serve as Deputy Chairman, with Sekonte Davies as Secretary.

Mark stated the exercise aims to establish a credible and verifiable membership base. The committee has a 30-day deadline to submit an interim report.

“A strong, well-documented membership is the lifeblood of any party,” Mark said. He tasked the committee with harmonising records, eliminating inconsistencies, and ensuring transparency.

In his response, Chairman Imam pledged the committee’s dedication, describing the ADC as a grassroots movement for the “average Nigerian.”

“We will work 24/7. You will see us mobilising in the creeks, in the deserts, and across the length and breadth of this country,” Imam stated.

The ADC has recently positioned itself as a coalition platform for opposition leaders aiming to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
