Adeleke Nominates Iwo-Born Ex-NDIC Executive, Franklin Omoniyi To UNIOSUN Council

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has nominated Chief Franklin Akinola Omoniyi, Bobajiroro of Iwoland, as a member of the Governing Council of Osun State University, UNIOSUN.

Chief Omoniyi, an Iwo-born financial expert, brings over 35 years experience in banking, accounting, auditing, taxation and capital market operations to the appointment.

Born on October 8, 1960, in Iwo, he began his career as a Treasury Officer in the Bauchi State Accountant-General’s Office between 1987 and 1988. He later served as Auditor-in-Charge at the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation from 1989 to 1992, and worked briefly with Access Bank Plc.

In 1994, he joined the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, NDIC, where he served as Executive Bank Examiner for 26 years until 2020. He is currently Managing Director/CEO of Twinsgold Consulting.

Chief Omoniyi holds a http://B.Sc, http://M.Sc and MBA. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, FCA; Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, FCIB; Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, FCIS; Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, FCTI; and Institute of Management Consultants, FIMC.

A respected community leader in Iwoland, he is widely celebrated for his humility and service. Fellow Iwo indigene and Chartered Accountant, Mr. Kabiru Adeniyi Adisa, FCA, described him as a model of competence, integrity and excellence.

The Governor’s nomination places one of Iwoland’s most accomplished sons in a strategic role at one of Osun’s premier universities. Stakeholders say his expertise in financial regulation, auditing and executive leadership will strengthen governance and financial discipline at UNIOSUN.
