Adeleke Urges Osun Voters to Protect Democratic Mandate Ahead of Governorship Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on residents to turn out in large numbers for the upcoming governorship poll and actively safeguard their votes.

Speaking during visits to royal fathers at the palaces of the Ajalaye of Ipetu-Ijesha and the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Governor Adeleke emphasized that free and fair elections remain an unassailable right of the people. He assured voters that their safety and security during the exercise are fully guaranteed.

“No force can deny Osun voters their democratic rights,” Adeleke stated. “Mobilise your relatives and friends, vote for good governance, and defend your votes.”

The governor was accompanied on the campaign trail by top leaders of the Imole Campaign Council and his cousin, Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, who similarly urged residents to exercise their constitutional rights without fear.

During the visit to Ipetu-Ijesha, the traditional ruler, Oba Adeleke Oke, praised the current administration’s track record over the past four years and expressed strong support for the governor’s re-election bid. The visit included an interfaith prayer session organized at the palace for a peaceful and successful election outcome.

Campaign rallies held across Ipetu-Ijesha and Ijebu-Jesa drew crowds of supporters as the campaign council made its final push to mobilize voters across the state ahead of the August 15 election.
