Adeleke Visits Aso Villa, Presents Certificate of Return to Tinubu

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday presented his certificate of return to President Bola Tinubu during a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.*
The governor arrived at the villa at 5:25 pm in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, dressed in navy blue traditional attire and carrying a walking stick. He was accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
It was Adeleke’s first meeting with the President since his re-election in last Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
A statement by the governor’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, said Adeleke presented the certificate to President Tinubu after the meeting. Photos from the meeting showed the two leaders shaking hands.
On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, presented the certificate to Adeleke. The document was handed over by the INEC National Commissioner for the South-West, Prof. Kunle Ajayi, at an event attended by the governor’s political associates and cabinet members.
At the event, Adeleke also announced plans to establish a N500 million endowment fund for victims of election violence.
INEC had declared Adeleke winner of the election on Sunday. The governor, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
