Aisha Yesufu: Voting APC Means Allowing Insecurity to Continue

Human rights activist and former Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Aisha Yesufu, has urged Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls, arguing that another electoral victory for the ruling party would amount to endorsing the country’s worsening security situation.
Yesufu made the remarks in a post shared on her verified X account on Sunday amid growing concerns over rising cases of killings, kidnappings and other violent attacks across different parts of Nigeria.
The activist, who is also a co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls movement, said Nigerians have the power to bring about political change through the ballot box.
According to her, every eligible Nigerian should obtain a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) ahead of future elections, describing it as the most effective tool for citizens seeking change.
She urged all Nigerians aged 18 years and above to register to vote and participate actively in the electoral process.

“The miracle people have been praying for is more accessible with their PVCs,” she stated.
Yesufu further alleged that voting for the APC would allow the country’s current security challenges to persist.
“Any vote for APC is vote for these terrorists to continue what they are doing,” she wrote.
Her comments come at a time when insecurity remains a major national concern, with several communities across the country continuing to grapple with attacks by bandits, kidnappers and other armed groups.
