Anambra First Lady Advocates Increased Support for Small Businesses
The First Lady of Anambra State, Nonye Soludo, has called for renewed efforts to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), highlighting their vital role in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation.
In a statement released on Saturday to mark International MSME Day, Mrs. Soludo praised the resilience and determination of entrepreneurs, noting that their contributions are fundamental to building prosperous and inclusive communities. She described small businesses as the “backbone of global economies” and emphasized that their success directly translates to the overall welfare of families and society.
“When small businesses thrive, our communities prosper,” she stated, adding that the global celebration serves as a vital reminder to prioritize policies that provide entrepreneurs with better access to markets, advanced skills, and improved business opportunities.
This year’s International MSME Day is observed under the theme, “Human-Centred Entrepreneurship in an AI-Driven Future: Economic Empowerment for the Next Generation of MSMEs.” The theme focuses on ensuring that as the business landscape evolves with artificial intelligence, support structures remain inclusive and centered on human potential.
The First Lady concluded by urging stakeholders to continue fostering an environment that enables small business owners to succeed, ensuring they remain key drivers of sustainable development and national economic stability.
