Anthony Joshua Involved in Fatal Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua was involved in a fatal road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulting in two deaths, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The collision occurred when the vehicle transporting the two-time unified world heavyweight champion hit a stationary truck. Joshua and another passenger were rushed to a medical facility in Lagos, where they were reported to be in stable condition with no emergency medical needs.
In a joint statement, the Ogun State Special Adviser on Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, and the Lagos State Commissioner for Information extended sympathies to the families of the deceased and confirmed that both state governments are closely monitoring the situation.
Preliminary investigations indicate that excessive speed and wrongful overtaking were likely contributing factors to the accident. Authorities have stated that a full investigation is ongoing.
