APC Candidate Oyebamiji Expresses Confidence Ahead of Osun Election, Dismisses Incumbent’s Advantage

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has voiced strong confidence in his chances ahead of the August 15 election, asserting that state residents are seeking a change in leadership.

Speaking during a televised town hall meeting on Tuesday, Oyebamiji addressed criticisms from opposition quarters claiming his campaign relies heavily on federal backing. He refuted these claims, emphasizing that his momentum stems directly from extensive engagement with grassroots voters across the state.

The APC candidate highlighted his campaign strategy, noting that he completed multiple tours across Osun’s local government areas to consult party members, establish grassroots campaign structures, and meet with various community stakeholders, including traditional leaders, traders, civil servants, and professional groups. According to Oyebamiji, his interactions revealed widespread desire among residents for new governance. He further claimed to have secured endorsements from approximately 42 distinct sectors and community groups over the past two months.

Dismissing concerns over the popularity of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, Oyebamiji urged voters to compare the candidates based on their administrative backgrounds and professional qualifications. Expressing optimism about the upcoming polls, he maintained that the decision ultimately rests with the voters of Osun State as election day approaches.
