APC Leadership Holds Closed-Door Strategy Meeting Ahead of National Convention

Top officials of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently in a closed-door meeting in Abuja, amid heightened political consultations within the party.

The meeting, which includes members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and governors elected on its platform, is taking place at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro. It is being led by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.

The gathering is seen as a key strategic session ahead of the party’s upcoming national convention scheduled for March. This convention will be the culmination of a series of congresses at the ward, local government, state, and zonal levels, for which a timetable was released last year.

A significant number of state governors are in attendance, including those from Plateau, Kaduna, Kebbi, Ebonyi, Sokoto, Kogi, Benue, Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, and Lagos states.

According to party insiders, the agenda for the meeting includes critical issues such as the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, the planning for the forthcoming ward and local government congresses, and other pressing national and party matters.

Details of the discussions are expected to emerge later.
