Appeal Court Affirms Election Of LP, Atta Eti Osa House Of Reps Member

The Appeal Court has declared the Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Atta, as the duly elected House of Representatives member representing Eti Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State.
Recall that the Lagos State National and State House of Assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, in August annulled the February 25, 2023 election of Attah. The court ordered INEC to conduct a supplementary election in the 32 polling units of Eti-Osa within 90 days and withdraw the return certificate issued to Attah and conduct elections in areas where the election wasn’t held on February 25.
Dissatisfied by the judgment, Attah approached the Court of Appeal and was able to reclaim his mandate.
The Labour party governorship candidate in Lagos state, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour announced Attah’s victory at the Court of Appeal.
This legal battle involved famous Nigerian singer and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Bankole Wellington, known as Banky W, who was declared the runner-up in the February 2023 election, and Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
