Aquinas College Honors 35 Outstanding Alumni at 75th Anniversary Celebration

The Aquinas College Akure Old Students’ Association (ACAOSA) has recognized 35 prominent alumni for their exceptional contributions to humanity, the institution, and the association.
The honors were presented during the grand finale of activities commemorating the school’s 75th anniversary. Among those honored were Dr. Oyedokun Abiodun, former Vice President of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors; Sola Adewunmi, Worldwide President of ACAOSA; Prof. Segun Ojo, Chairman of the 75th Anniversary Central Planning Committee; Col. Wilson Alade (retd.), Co-Chairman of the committee; and retired Major Gen. Adeyemi Adetayo.
Other awardees included David Fapohunda, Oluwalade Temiloluwa, Damilola Atolusi, Dr. Olaide Afelumo, Francis Oladunmoye, Charles Osuntuyi, Dr. Akinwunmi Odumankinde, Felix Fadeni, and football coach Adeoye Gbangba.
Speaking on behalf of the honorees, Dr. Abiodun advocated for a stronger partnership between the alumni network and the school’s management to accelerate infrastructural and academic growth. He emphasized that leveraging the collective resources and expertise of former students remains critical to modernizing facilities and elevating educational standards for the 21st century.
The week-long anniversary activities included the commissioning of legacy projects, academic essay and history competitions, inter-school debates, career mentorship sessions, and a novelty football match.
