Autopsy Report for Deceased Twins Expected in Two Weeks, Says Lagos Official

Ibrahim Mustapha

The final autopsy report for a set of twins who died recently in Lagos is expected to be completed within the next two weeks, according to the state’s Primary Health Care Board.

Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, the Permanent Secretary of the Board, provided an update on the investigation, confirming that the post-mortem examination has been conducted. He explained that authorities are now awaiting the toxicology results, which are being processed abroad, to accompany the autopsy findings.

“They told us three weeks. One week is gone, so we are expecting it to be released in two weeks,” Mustafa stated, noting that the toxicology analysis is a necessary part of the full report.

The official assured that the state government has remained in contact with the children’s family throughout the process and is committed to a transparent investigation.

“The state government is very committed to the investigation, and that is why we are putting everything in place for the autopsy and toxicology results to be ready, because that will clarify everything,” he emphasized.

Mustafa added that the government is ensuring a thorough inquiry, including sending samples overseas for specialized testing, to bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
