Benue Man Appeals for Help Years After Losing Family in Lagos Building Collapse

A survivor of the 2019 Lagos building collapse, Emmanuel Otache, is pleading for assistance as he continues to grapple with the profound loss of his family and severe, lasting injuries from the incident.
Otache, an indigene of Benue State, recounted how the tragedy on October 12, 2019, claimed the lives of his pregnant wife and three children. He survived but spent seven months in a coma, only to awaken to the devastating news that his entire immediate family had perished.
Years later, his recovery remains fraught with difficulty. He reports being unable to work due to metal implants in his body, which now require replacement. Having written to multiple government agencies and his home state government without success, Otache is making a public appeal for support to access crucial medical care and begin rebuilding his life.
