Burna Boy and Shakira Meet During Rehearsals Ahead of Historic World Cup Halftime Show

Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian pop icon Shakira have shared a warm moment behind the scenes as they prepare to headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup final halftime show. Burna Boy shared footage and photographs on his social media showing the two artists embracing and laughing outside production trailers during rehearsals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA.

The duo will perform *Dai Dai*, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which they previously debuted together during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City. To accommodate the Super Bowl-style entertainment spectacle during Sunday’s final between Spain and Argentina, the traditional 15-minute halftime interval is expected to be extended to roughly 30 minutes. This expanded block will combine an 11-minute concert window with standard television punditry and analysis.

The star-studded performance lineup will feature co-headliners BTS, Madonna, and Justin Bieber, alongside conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, and iconic characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets. Beyond the entertainment value, FIFA’s newly formatted show is designed to raise awareness and support for global children’s education initiatives.
