Children’s Day: Niger Gov says parental negligence fueling decadence, other social vices

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, has decried the negligence of some parents towards their children, which has resulted in moral decadence and various social vices in society.

The governor, in a message to mark the 2025 Children’s Day celebration through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, acknowledged that children deserve the best of everything in life.

According to him, “Giving them the best at the earliest stages of their lives would go a long way in ensuring a good, peaceful, and sustainable society.”

The governor then urged parents, teachers, and all relevant stakeholders to reassess their commitments to the upbringing of children, with a view to improving it for a sound society.
