Commonwealth Parliamentary Association re-admits Cross River Assembly

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, CPA, has readmitted the Cross River State House of Assembly to its fold.

The Cross River Assembly had been unable to meet its dues and other financial obligations for some time, which led to its removal.

As a result, it ceased to enjoy the benefits accruing from CPA, including participation in its educational conferences.

Speaker of the Assembly, Elvert Ayambem, while addressing a special plenary session convened on Friday to mark the second year of the 10th Assembly, disclosed that the Cross River Assembly has now been able to offset a significant portion of its indebtedness to CPA and has been readmitted.

Ayambem assured that the outstanding debts will be cleared in no time.
