Davido Recounts Early Encounter with Fame and Leaked Photo Incident

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared details of a distressing early experience with celebrity exposure during the breakout period of his music career.

Speaking during an interview on VIBE Magazine’s YouTube channel, the singer recalled travelling to Ghana shortly after releasing his early hit singles, where he was met with overwhelming fan reaction and sudden public attention.

Davido recounted how a night out during the trip led to his first encounter with a leaked private photo. After spending the night with a woman from a nightclub, he woke up to learn that she had taken a picture of him sleeping to prove to her friends that she was with him. The image quickly circulated online, prompting frantic phone calls from his father and family members.

Describing the panic that followed, the music star admitted that the sudden loss of privacy was overwhelming at the time. Reflecting on the incident, Davido noted that the experience served as an early lesson regarding the risks and vulnerabilities that accompany youth and fame, teaching him to navigate his personal life with greater caution.
