Delta State Student Wanted for Fatal Stabbing of Younger Brother

The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a university student who allegedly stabbed his younger brother to death during a heated altercation at their shared residence.
The incident, which took place on June 17, 2026, involved two brothers 21-year-old Fejiro and 19-year-old Joseph both students at the same higher institution. According to police reports, what began as a minor domestic dispute between the two escalated into a violent confrontation.
Public Relations Officer for the Delta State Police, SP Bright Edafe, stated that while neighbors initially intervened to separate the brothers, the fighting resumed shortly after they moved to the back of their property. It was during this second confrontation that the elder brother, Fejiro, reportedly armed himself with a kitchen knife and inflicted multiple fatal wounds on his younger sibling before fleeing the scene.
The suspect has remained at large since the incident, and police are actively working to locate and apprehend him. During a public address on the matter, the police spokesperson expressed deep concern over the tragedy, suggesting that the level of violence displayed could indicate potential involvement in illicit drug use or cult activities, though he emphasized that official investigations remain ongoing.
The police command has used the incident to urge parents and guardians to prioritize moral upbringing and conflict resolution skills within the family unit. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the suspect is brought to justice, while continuing to call for stronger family values to prevent such occurrences.
