EFCC Finally Produces Emefiele In Court

In compliance with the order of Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has produced the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele in court.
Justice Adeniyi had on Monday reiterated his November 2 order directing the anti-corruption commission to either release Emefiele unconditionally immediately or produce him in court to be granted bail.
The former CBN Governor had approached the court to enforce his fundamental right.
He joined the Federal Government, the Attorney-General of the Federation, the Executive Chairman of EFCC and the commission as respondents in the case.
Dressed in a yellow Kaftan and a cap and flanked by operatives of the EFCC, the former CBN Governor arrived at the courtroom at about 12:30 pm.
