Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to use the period to pray for peaceful elections ahead of the 2027 general polls.

The Speaker also called on Nigerians to renew their faith in God, remain united and extend support to the poor and less privileged in society.

In a Sallah message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Abbas described Eid-el-Kabir as a festival that symbolises total obedience and submission to the will of Allah as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

According to him, the season offers important lessons on sacrifice, faith, obedience and selflessness.

“This period calls for a deep reflection,” the Speaker stated.

Abbas urged Nigerians to dedicate their lives, time and resources to the service of humanity and worship of Allah.

He further appealed to citizens to offer special prayers for the country, political stability and peaceful conduct of the 2027 elections.
