EKITI GOVT HANDS OVER ULTRAMODERN LIBRARY COMPLEX TO EKITI STATE POLYTECHNIC

The Ekiti State Government has officially handed over a newly constructed ultramodern library complex to the authorities of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti.

The handover ceremony, held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, marked a major achievement in the state’s continued investment in academic excellence and knowledge development. The event attracted key stakeholders, including officials from the Ekiti State Bureau of Special Projects, representatives of the contracting firm, Kouris Construction Nigeria Limited and members of the Polytechnic’s management team.

Described as a state-of-the-art facility, the newly completed library complex is designed to serve as a hub for research, learning, and innovation within the institution. The structure comprises both a well-equipped physical library section and a modern audiovisual unit, with a seating capacity of approximately 250 students at a time.

The facility, which aligns with the government’s broader agenda of revitalizing the education sector and creating an enabling environment for students to thrive academically, is expected to significantly enhance access to learning resources, promote digital literacy, and support contemporary teaching methodologies.

The Rector of the Institution Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe who was represented by his deputy Dr. Ebenezer Ajayi, expressed profound appreciation to the state government for the intervention, noting that proper maintenance and optimal utilization of the complex would be ensured.

The contractor, Kouris Construction Nigeria Limited, was also commended for delivering the project in line with required specifications, reflecting quality craftsmanship and adherence to modern standards.

With the formal transfer of the facility, students and staff of Ekiti State Polytechnic are set to benefit from an improved academic environment that supports research, collaboration and innovation.
