Ekiti Magistrate Court Remands Three Over Murder Bid

Three individuals, Sunday Ikechukwu (39), Pius Kelvin (29), and Jude Sunday (35), have been remanded in correctional custody by a magistrate’s court in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, over allegations of conspiracy, threat of violence, and attempted murder.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants are suspected to have attempted to murder Sunday Onodu and others, contrary to Sections 421, 46, and 241 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State (2021). Oriyomi requested the court to grant the remand application, stating that the case file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice.

Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted the application, ordering the suspects to remain in correctional custody pending the DPP’s advice. The defendants are set to face charges related to the alleged incident, with the court awaiting further guidance from the DPP.
