Ekiti Schools Set for Second Term Resumption on Monday

Public and private primary and secondary schools across Ekiti State are to reopen for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 5.
The announcement was made by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye, in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Saturday.
The resumption follows the holiday break that began in December after the conclusion of the first term, allowing students and staff to observe the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Dr. Aderiye directed all teachers and learners to return to school on the stipulated date, confirming that academic activities will begin immediately in line with the state’s approved academic calendar.
She described the resumption as the start of a “new chapter,” with students expected to participate in a range of academic and extracurricular pursuits throughout the term.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to educational standards, the Commissioner stated, “Ekiti State Government will continue to provide the direction and regulations needed for excellent outcomes from schools.”
The state government expressed optimism for a productive and successful term in the education sector.
